Arthur JOANIN - GAME DESIGNER on DayZ

Euro Truck Simulator 2 & American TS

I ensure a smooth yet challenging experience for players during the release of Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2) and American Truck Simulator (ATS). My primary focus is designing Steam achievements for upcoming DLCs, creating meaningful challenges, and balancing them effectively. I also collaborate with map designers to guide players toward key points of interest and new features, encouraging exploration and engagement with the latest updates.

DLC release

I am actively involved in designing in-game events for both Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2) and American Truck Simulator (ATS), covering everything from challenges and rewards to additional functionalities.

I start by conducting in-depth research on the selected country or region, identifying key cultural, historical, or geographical elements that can be translated into engaging gameplay. I then work closely with vehicle artists to assess technical feasibility and determine the types of visual rewards players can earn, ensuring they align with the theme and maintain consistency with the game’s universe.

Once the research and asset planning are complete, I design the event’s rules, defining the time frame, difficulty, and key locations where I want to immerse the player. The goal is to create a structured and dynamic experience that encourages exploration while providing a meaningful challenge.

Beyond concept and design, I ensure the event remains feasible from a production standpoint, coordinating with different teams to keep development on track and making necessary adjustments to maintain quality and playability.

I am currently working on announced DLCs, including Nordic Horizons for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and Missouri, Iowa, Louisiana, and Illinois for American Truck Simulator. Additionally, I design seasonal events such as Christmas and Halloween, creating festive experiences that bring new and engaging content to the games.
